RE: brokers and margin. Since I've been getting jacked around by Schwab's procedures I'm thinking about getting another account wi Dreyfus and it occurs to me that a reason to increase the margin req is that we would all be less likely to maintain several accts (in different firms) bec we would need a larger base sum in each. These folks don't miss a trick do they? And they call it protecting us; sounds like the IRS making sure the gov has some of our money to spend the right way. So now that I've got that off my chest, back to your regular programming.
