You're right, QUITE a confluence of negative stuff. You forgot the GS professional bashing and downgrade which took us from 11 to 8. And then (as you noted) the VISX news and the pricing pressure it implied took us below $8.

The GS behavior got a lot of attention on the Yahoo board and rightly so. There was no response by management other than a letter sent to (some) shareholders rebutting and denying some of the claims. Seeing as the GS downgrade maligned the product, not just the stock, I think that management should have been public and direct in their reply. They say that they may need GS in the future and yet GS wasn't even part of the SPO. In fact, that may have contributed to their (GS') behavior (although the bigger factor was probably the need to prop up VISX while their good clients got out).

I'm having Intacs surgery tomorrow. I bought and sold this summer and rebought this fall, thinking it was a dip. My doctor was the first doctor to have the surgery performed on him and is a great proponent of the procedure. His best quote when I saw him today was "nobody is doing PRK anymore". Think about it. I'll report results. (if I can see the screen) RK
