Hi Sue, sounds like your brother is dependent on his broker for that "comfort level" thing which is understandable. Unq has recommended some great reading to build his own comfort level away from the broker. I especially like Lynch's Beating the Street - lets us know we can do as well or better than professionals (like uncle frank <g>). You could also convince your brother to open a second account, strictly online and discount, to experiment with the strategies he learns from the books - starting with the purchase of gmst of course <g>. After two or three years he would realize he can do better without the broker and still have a great comfort level. Good Luck. Rory

IMO you'll get the last laugh as the Internet and online trading gradually forces your broker, and all brokers for that matter, to become nothing more than Customer Service grunts making $15.50 per hour.
