During the December 9, 1999 public demonstration of its revolutionary UNI-POINT(tm) wireless data communication system and AutoRescue(tm) vehicle tracking and recovery system, company representatives utilized a single base station to dynamically and accurately track a vehicle. The vehicle was recovered by a local police officer in less than five minutes. High Enforcement Action Team (H.E.A.T.) who was on hand to witness the demonstration. ``What we saw today got the job done, and that is what we're looking for.' ``This is the first public demonstration of a high-speed, wireless two-way data system with positioning capabilities that can perform at this level of accuracy,' said Frank Neuperger, President and CEO of Centraxx Technologies (division of Centraxx Inc.). ``The Centraxx AutoRescue system will bring the benefits of highly accurate location technology to everyone, at a fraction of the cost of currently available systems.' The AutoRescue system is the first vehicle tracking and recovery system in the world that combines self-arming reliability, speed, accuracy and affordability. The AutoRescue system consists of a small tag hidden within a vehicle and a wireless key that the owner will carry on his or her key chain. When the vehicle moves, the tag ``wakes up' and looks for the presence of the wireless key. If the wireless key is not in the vehicle, the tag sends an immediate alert to the nearest base station, which is transmitted to the Centraxx monitoring center. Real-time tracking and notification to the police occurs within seconds of the actual event, enabling quick recovery. AutoRescue is expected to retail for $129.95 and will offer 24/7 monitoring for $4.95 per month. UNI-POINT is a land-based radio frequency tracking station that is capable of transmitting and receiving large volumes of data at high speed. It also can deliver exact tracking and locating information. A UNI-POINT base station can be deployed independently for a local application or in a network configuration for wide area applications.
