<<BS! Linux is a roadside whores version of an operating system.....>

You maybe right. But look back at history. Apple OS was a very closed system. The very Steve Jobs did not let out OS details to encourage application developers. Microsoft on the other hand, with a crappy WINDOWS OS, was successful in marketing it and getting a wide following because of its programs and encouragement to a suite of companies developing applications around their OS. All that they did was set the standards for the OS and did not allow it to fall a victim of a committee whose members are from competing companies and hence have a tendency to be very fractious and mess up the standards.

LINUX on the other hand is a "open-source" code type of stuff. The danger here is that application developers would have a tendency to take the OS and modify it to suit their application. So as accessible as it is because of "source code availability", the industry should guard against the straying of LINUX functionality due to a lack of a standardization body. I am not sure what is in the works towards such a goal.

Now onto AOL. Anyone know if AOL is going to come out with a LINUX version soon since DELL is offering and will offer boxes which support both WinOS and LINUX? There is a company SMSI that came out with an announcement that its suite of B2B application software is capable of running on both the systems and their stock had an unusual rise just on that announcement. I am sure that if AOL does the same, it will add some delta to the stock value.

Any comments, anybody?

I'm just saying windows is an inferior operating system. A truism that everyone should become aware of.
