Is there any promising technologies out there to replace magnetic storage? Obviously, Quinta and Terastor belly flopped... Any insights into what is in the pipe out there? todd

How long before we begin encountering diminishing as opposed to accelerating returns as we get closer to the limit? -Z

Stitch and everyone, Isn't approaching the paramagnetic limit good news? Assuming of course that the demand for storage keeps growing, won't that finally provide unit growth and possibly an end to the losses? When Steve Luczo said the other day that areal densities could increase 100% a year for the next few years, I was quite disheartened. As Todd said once, this industry is getting killed by its own technology feats. -Rob
