OT Hi Jim,

I just finished holiday gift eshopping, and while looking at Macys.com, I saw something you might be interested in: somewhere under one of their Millennium sections, they have a coffee mug with "01-01-00 It's Coming!" and a "Millennium Bug" gift. Macys.com has a beautiful Millennium ornament section - great gifts for friends & family - although, I noticed most/many of the excellent items are gone and are no longer listed on their website (I did most of my gift shopping in October & November). Also, for some of the same ornaments, I noticed JCPenney's is 30% less. [ Does anyone know the names or URLs of "shop price robots"? I know they exist, but don't recall where. ]

Since we're on the topic of eshopping (sorry it's not sports), the Internet shopping search engines really have made it easy to find the gifts you're seeking. It saves a lot of time. I also noticed that some of the items were cheaper over the Internet than in the store (one item was $9 at the store, but $6 at their Internet store). I bet my friends who live in NY NY would save money through eshopping - I was comparing retail prices (not Internet prices) with one of my friends and the prices she pays are about 25% more than what I pay. NY is expensive. With the Internet, the prices are less for her, since she's in NYC. However, for me (I don't live in NYC), when the extra cost of shipping is added, it's generally a wash; although if I buy 2 items then the Internet tends to be less expensive. The selection is extensive over the Internet and gifts are easier to find (when compared to hunting for a gift in a store) and in many cases they are less expensive.

Another friend of mine is tall (6') and she doesn't live in the USA, so she has a really hard time finding pants for her height. She can't find any pants made for someone who is 6' tall where she lives. So, I told her about Lands End.com where she can buy pants & have them custom-made for her height at no extra charge. And they ship to the country she lives in. She was so excited.
Cheers,
Amy J

Jim, re: "You don't by chance have an AR home do you?"

Yes, the original AR, before they were bought by USH. I would be happy to invite John, but I do like to wait for the Valencia's to make Mimosas. Late Feb, early March.
