Yep--- Short the hell out of it! Post your call all over the internet. Call the TV stations in your area and get them to tell of your plan. Ask API to get it into the Sunday papers. With any kind of a mkt MSFT will continue to rise as this is based on old news and already priced into the stock when it dropped to 88... I love it when people short it. Actually I keep adding in this range and want to see as many shares short as possible. I have about 1K put aside just to sell back during the next squeeze...........

Hardy Boy: Where have you been; starring in another book? This is old news. This kind of "bad" news was discounted weeks ago. The reason for the recent weakness prior to Fridays strength was due to the fact that the government's case is so weak that MSFT will go the whole route right to the Supreme Court if they have to. That will probably not be necessary as the Appellate Court is liable to reject the District Court.JFD

By 10AM Monday would be so kind as to post your short position? I'm sure the entire thread will enjoy seeing what develops.

Regards,

It's really quite simple.

1) If the DOJ has an airtight case MSFT will realize this and be forced to settle. The stock price will climb on the news without a doubt.

2) If the DOJ can't win then MSFT will continue to make money hand over fist and people won't care if they settle. MSFT will do whatever it takes to get their stock price moving, so shareholders/employees will stick with the company while they fight to the death.

Point is, I believe MSFT is wise enough to take whatever course of action is necessary to enrich themselves and their shareholders.

I do not envision a scenario where MSFT lets their stock price languish while they fight it out in court for years on end. If they are going to fight, they will take steps to get their stock moving. If they are going to settle, the stock price will take care of itself.
