For those who haven't read the January issue of Red Herring ...

"...the latest media buzzword: television commerce, or t-commerce. Merge the immediacy of the Internet with the ease of use of television and this, supposedly, is what you get."

The guy who coined the phrase, t-commerce, is Lawrence Marcus, author of a Deutsche Bank report on the subject. His numbers are:

"...interactive media and t-commerce will be worth $300 billion over the next five years. Five years from now, t-commerce revenue is going to [be] greater than e-commerce revenue."

"...if the current uptake of set-top box, enhanced TV, and electronic program guides continnues, ... interactive advertising will be worth $201 billion" in 2002.

If you need to ask what company Stew and I think might benefit from that, don't ask. :)

Mike: On second thought and in the cold light of day, rather than adjust the game I started on your thread, I will just retire it - honorably of course.

The way I would revise it now would make it too close to my One, One, One to be useful as a separate effort.

Thanks for stimulating me to start the game way back in May 1998.

The year an a half since then seems like a long time - amazing.

I, for one, have learned much in that period, here and elsewhere.
