What's not to like--I'd like to think
that if I have to deal with an oncologist
years from now, she will be able to put
together an antigen cocktail just for me...
that seems to be the direction Gizzmo is
heading with their vaccines...but I will
check my notes again too--it is a bit of
a jumbled mess in my head tonight, too eager
to post perhaps.

But getting back to the keynote speaker--
Lee Hartwell of the Hutch: You are best off
preventing cancer, let's all say that ten times.
I replayed that in my head with each new
presentation and I'm certainly not going to
raid the family nest egg to go chasing cancer cure
stocks--oh I've got some mad money in there,
you know the symbols, and you can be sure
I've bookmarked this thread once again,
but I probably wont be making any trades
off this II forum on Monday.

Just saw JB's message--I don't have an answer yet
except for this snip from the annual report.
Genzyme continues to hold title to all
of the assets and is responsible for all
of the liabilities allocated to each of
its divisions. Holders of each series of
Genzyme common stock have no specific claim
against the assets attributed for financial
statement presentation purposes to the
division whose performance is associated
with the series of stock they hold.

--I'd have run that quote by Gail Maderis if I could
have found it, buried under all my notes stolen from
Rick's contributions to this thread, but couldn't find
it at the time. Gail was very clear that she feels what
is GZMO's does belong to GZMO shareholders, well who
is that, time to check the law on these tracking stocks,
it is not clear to me how GENZ is going to divest itself
of their shares...and the quote above...well I'm stumped.

Now, could the stock spike up because of the presentation,
yeah, a good chance. It really was one of the best and
the President of GMO really should inspire confidence
for shareholders...a great speaker, probably an
extremely smart person, just terrific.

Cancer vaccines--you fellas might find some
authoritative-sounding posts if you surf around
on Yahoo: I just read the December posts from
csbiomajor and redplate today, various threads,
found my way back to BIOM pretty quick...
I'd lost track of Biomira, which is too bad
because it is widely followed and awfully tradable.
fwiw, csbio summarized the II forum on the Yahoo
Gizzmo thread, both contributors can be found on
the pgnx thread, or just query.

_________
Larry--I think we have both been bottomfishing axph,
am I right? Despite a generally pessimistic attitude
toward Axys among the biogurus, I'm going to let
Axys cook a couple more months, give them a chance
to pull a genomics rabbit out of their hat--if they
don't do it now while that subsector of biotech is
hot, then heaven help them. I was trying to remember
why I've been buying this--all I could think of was
'pharmacogenomics plus oncology, nice annual report',
so easy to watch the quotes and completely forget
all the specifics of a company.

Anyway, I'm resisting the urge to churn my Axys shares
into more Gizzmo...It'll probably take a few weeks for
gmo investor relations to get back to me regarding a
few questions I still have (which have largely been
answered in the past couple days here on SI-but what the
heck, I've already stamped the envelope).

I sort of see this hobby winding down by next Spring,
if I lose interest in trading, want to be sure I've
got some good long term holds.
