I for one do not know if flipping, trading activity, account balance, and first come first served have any impact on IPO allocation, but I suspect it is not all as random as they claim. I've gotten 5 IPOs through E*Trade in the past year, 3 were losers (down from IPO price in the first couple of days), and the other two RTEC (+6 first day) and DMRC were winners.

I can not imagine getting one like LNUX. That really is like hitting the lottery. Anyway, DMRC was a decent victory (although it is down to 55 from the 84 where it opened first day) and as a result of that, I certainly have nothing bad to say about E*Trade.
