Patricia, actually investment expenses, including travel, research, meetings, books, journals, etc. are deductible as a miscellaneous itemized deduction on Schedule A, Subject to the 2% floor. Not quite "unlimited"...... but still, somewhat deductible. Sorry if I butted in.
