Some think, perhaps, that it is peace which I have come to cast upon the world. They do not know that it is dissension which I have come to cast upon the world.

>George, I wish you would stop comparing Albanians and Chechens, the NATO operation and the Russian operation in Chechnya.

I just can't help myself<g>

>They have only the most superficial resemblance.

I respectfully disagree. Here we have two sovereign countries dealing with internal matters of terrorists/separatists. On one hand, all mighty Nato gangs up on Yugoslavia and on the other the Western countries "recognize Russia's right to deal with their internal affairs" while continuing IMF assistance (and avoiding years of sanctions, etc.) The difference in the application of dealing with both countries is INCREDIBLE and shows again the double standards applied by the leaders of this "third way" politicians.

For starters, I suggest you take a trip to Belgrad (if you haven't already), and take a good long look at the city, as it is now. Then take a trip to Grozny, and take another long look. Then compare. And then tell me whether you see any resemblance.

NO doubt about it, Grozny is flattened and Belgrade looks like a nice town compared to it! NO doubt the Russians have been ruthlessly brutal in going after the Chechens. But what do you do when you have these Islamic bandits invading a neighboring republic and blasting buildings in Moscow? (I do have my doubts that Chechens are behind them). Tell me what do you do to deal with these guys? Of course innocent civilians always get hurt in the process:(
