Think it is probably in January. But of course I do not know. Think it is a shame that it becomes more difficult to carry on the business that various regulatory agencies were designed for due to the holiday season.

I once flew up to the states to make a presentation to a group of government employees. working out of the Department of State. The meeting was postponed one day. Then because the results were classified, to keep me from being able to read them, another two day delay resulted because they had a shortage of typist with the proper clearances, to type the cable. When the cable arrived, I was tipped off informally that it had come but the person to whom it was directed had not picked it up.

I could not just say go get the cable as this would create a problem for the person who let me know it had arrived. Took me a week to get the other person to get it, and by then this person probably realized he was the last to know. Even though I had helped compose the instructions in the cable I was not authorized to see the cable so its contents were paraphrased to me and I took the instructions to the group of nationals I was working with.

While the meeting produced the $3 million loan we were seeking conditioned on the agreements to be made per the cables instructions, the meeting was a farce. Not because I was the sole presenter but because people came in and out of the meeting at will. Some did not hear the presentation. Some asked the same questions already asked by others but from the way they worded their question one ciould tell they wanted a different answer.

Why am I telling you this? Just to get it off my chest and to explain why I really do believe any meeting with any government office is full of twist and turns that are not imaginable if you have not seen one. For this reason I don't question XOMA's strategy in terms of how to work with its' regulator. I have nothing to suggest to them in this area since I don't know even some of the information required to make valid suggestions.
