Rumour: ZITL - ZITEL CORP $ 3 1/2 - rumored to be making a major positive Linux announcement siliconinvestor.com Reality: FAIRFAX, Va., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Datametrics(R) Systems Corporation, a subsidiary of Zitel Corporation (Nasdaq: ZITL), today announced that it has added support for the Linux and Sun Solaris platforms to the Company's award-winning VisualRoute(TM) Internet product. The VisualRoute product already offers support for Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/2000. Nothing major at all, a fancied-up trace-route application with underwhelming sales on the Windows platform ported to Linux, ho-hum. Clearly the rumour was widely leaked well before the PR come out, the stock was already trading up right from the open, then the price and volume surged again around 1:30, the time of the mentioned rumour email. Then reality hits when the PR is published at 3 PM and the price starts to sag a bit. Mo-mos try to keep it in play at the end of the day, but how long can they keep pushing it? The story isn't that good, and with a 20 mil float, it's on to the next play.
