Jim- We are both in a boom and a bubble...those companies that are under-priced/fairly priced for the boom will be fine (when the market corrects)..the bubble stock may not come back (so readily)...I guess the trick is to figure out which stocks belong to which (boom/bust) or what % of the stock price is based on bubble/and which on the boom..
Given the amount of $ sales and $ profit that Dell sells over the Net...it certainly appears firmly sits in the boom side (and not the bubble)...It is difficult to argue that there is any one company who has MORE successfully used the Web or better fulfills the promise of the internet/

My thesis: (Recent glitches aside)..Dell remains an internet company at a non-internet price. This should help the stock going forward.

I disagree with your analysis of SUNW vs. DELL. The recent price performance of these two stocks DOES reflect the fundamentals, IMHO. In particular, servers (where Sun excels) are the growth area in computing for the foreseeable future rather than desktops (where Dell competes). You can disagree, but the market has cast its vote.

JMHO.
