Zeev - could you expand on whay Si28 will never have a major semi-con application? i'll go forward with this message on the premise that the Eagle-Pitcher price is 75k/Kg and if it is purified even more, the cost should go up exponentially - lets say 10fold for the sake of the discussion, so ISON cost of Si28 would be $750,000/Kg.

after thinking about your post, i see where you are coming from now - this math would suggest that 1g of Si28 could cost $750 dollars, and if that's how much is needed for a memory chip then we are too expensive for the marketplace.

My thoughts...

1. i think the economics deserves some investigation, but i think we'll find it more in line than our posts might suggest.

2. like any technology, once it has a potential mass market, the costs come down exponentially as well.

3. nothing is a guaranteed winner, but i can't imagine these guys willing to shuck their largest business segment to go after the Si28 for the semicon industry unless there was at least a possibility.
