Usually, startups which go to the nasdaq get fresh equity to meet total assets and Net Tangible Assets criteria.

However, the nasdaq notes:

"Adoption of Market Capitalization Alternative
The adoption of a market capitalization test will help foster capital formation for Nasdaq National Market caliber companies that would otherwise not qualify due to accounting conventions associated with certain business combinations and specialized industries under the heading "Initial Listing 3." The attached table outlines the specific requirements. "

Well: to meet the 75MM requirement, the price must be pumped to around $6. Market value of the public float must also exceed 20MM, which requires a price over $5 roughly - anyways the minimum bid for the NNM.

and they have to estimate the number of shareholders to be over 400 (which can be accomplished more easily; for example by making many retail clients buying into the stock).

How long?

Formally, one day. Nasdaq IPOs meet the criteria upon registration of the offering, pricing & placement of the shares, distribution to clients and the result of the market activity.

But if you ask me then it can be good possible that it hits the AMEX rather than the nasdaq.
