Jim,

Except for one build to order Athlon the flyer is exclusively Intel based machines, unless I missed one. Is Intel having to finance the sales of Besy Buy?

Last week BestBuy flyer contained all Compaq systems based on AMD chips (except for two or three Intel systems in the whole flyer). This weeks was Intel's turn :-(

Jim - RE: "Did anyone check out the Best Buy flier today? Best Buy is offering no payments until Jan 3, 2001 on any system with an Intel Chip. Except for one build to order Athlon the flyer is exclusively Intel based machines, unless I missed one.
Is Intel having to finance the sales of Besy Buy? Someone is buying the paper. Why is this only for Intel based machines. Is Intel helping or is Best Buy having to pick up some of the tab in order to sell Intel based machines or?"

Last week Best Buy was giving away a free scanner with AMD based PCs. Looks like this week is Intel's turn to get an incentive. Best Buy ads occasionally offer no payments for a year on applicances or TVs, so PCs are probably no different for them.

The fast that there was only one AMD PC is weird when you consider in the past Best Buy ads have on average probably been at least 1/3 AMD.
