Lo. You are correct. No religion is immune to being twisted and exploited, and Islam is no exception. Such is the fallen state of mankind. Yet the Qu'ran itself is a different matter, especially in the Arabic. For consistency and veracity it is of a different level than the biblical texts (chosen amongst many, by Church Fathers, for political reasons, the oppression of women being high on the list). It's comments on Jesus are particularly interesting and to the point. It would have been interesting to know the historical Jesus, and his opinion about modern Christians.
