Amazon started 1999 with 2,100 employees and ends with 6,000! Morgan Stanley shows annualized revenue per
employee at $381,000!

I am pointing out a very important fact. The payroll of Amazon is huge when stock option compensation is calculated. I suspect the average pay per employee is three times that of a brick and mortar chain.

I wonder how many sales clerks the pay of "DALZELL RICHARD" equaled in 1999 for a brick and mortar store.

See, Amzn has two super sound bites:

1. I am growing so very fast, I am taking over.
2. I am losing so much money and I need to lose more.

So we should again have the volatilities and tops/bottoms. Why should the above story change?
