Shin denies rumours of AOL talks
BANGKOK, Dec 13 (Reuters) - Thai telecoms conglomerate Shin Corp denied on Monday it was negotiating with U.S. Internet giant America On-Line Co over unspecified investments.

``(Referring) to the news (that) Shin Corp is negotiating on some investment with America Online, a major player in the Internet business in the U.S., SHIN would like to clarify that the news is not true,' it said in a statement to the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

It gave no further details.

Thai techonology-related shares jumped last week due to an upbeat mood towards Internet-related businesses on the back of Thailand's economic recovery, as well as prospects for the global technology industry.

Shares in Shin and its units hit record highs last week. Shin jumped 6.00 baht to 230 baht on Monday morning.
