Sunday December 12, 10:44 pm Eastern Time HK&China Gas, Microsoft to hold joint announcement HONG KONG, Dec 13 (Reuters) - Hong Kong and China Gas Co and Micrcsoft Corp (NasdaqNM:MSFT - news) will hold a press conference on Monday to make a joint announcement, a spokeswoman for Microsoft said on Monday. But she declined to give details about the announcement. Hong Kong & China Gas, an indirect subsidiary of Henderson Land Development Co Ltd , said on Monday it would hold a news conference at 1615 local time (0815 GMT) to announce a new business project. Micrsoft had said earlier said it would hold a news conference with a major partner in Hong Kong at 1600 (0800 GMT) on Monday in the same hotel conference room. The Microsoft spokeswoman confirmed the two companies would hold a single joint news conference at the venue. Analysts said the gas provider had an optical fibre network as part of its distribution network, which was available for telecommunications use. The company's ultimate parent, Henderson Land probably would like to utilise that network for Internet and telecommunications businesses, they said.
