I'm betting there is a link between these two we won't know everything about - ever. Farmers mad about the way we are treated under WTO, & now Washing wants to be sure our imported food is clean & safe. I smell a link, after hearing about problems with France..

Farms Unsure if WTO Session Helped

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- It may take a while before farmers know if agriculture benefited from the recent World Trade Organization ministerial talks, industry leaders say.

Farmers hoped the WTO talks in Seattle last week would ``level the playing field' and offer an additional $30 billion to $50 billion worth of international sales a year through liberalized trade agreements.
