Craig,

I couldn't agree more. The stock just needs a catalyst. Could be DOJ settlement or positive earnings preannouncement, or just SUNW/ORCL investors rotating to a better "value". Either way, when it does break out, the window of opportunity to get in below 100 will be very small. MOF, I wouldn't be surprised if it gapped way up over it's old high and those who say they'll buy on the breakout will end up paying 105 or so. This would not be unusual for a monster stock like MSFT that has consolidated for almost a year now.

For a recent example of the big gap up after a looong sideways pattern that forms a huge triangle, check CMGI. People who wanted to buy the breakout over 107 ended up paying over 120 (although they're still doing pretty well).

Forget shorting for a couple bucks with huge risk. That's no way to build wealth. IMO now is the time to accumulate and buy the dips. This spring is coiled pretty tight. When it pops it will go to 160 by April.

Long the stock and 300 Jan calls.
