Hi David, Many thanks for the suggestions and the tutorial. My friend prefers to operate in the DOS world. Obviously this is one of the risks that got him into this mess. Your Norton approach was one that I also suggested, but he wanted to wait to speak to his computer vendor on Monday. Fortunately, his machine was built by a local company with whom we both have an excellent relationship and they are going to fix it. There were some valuable lessons learned from this experience and certainly we are both greatly impressed with the helping hands and quick responsiveness of those like you on the board.
