My son was able to get his version for free, well before Red Hat was trading. I imagine just about anyone can get it for free, so it puzzles him that Red Hat is such a success. But I suppose there are people who need the support.

I follow you on the durability issue. His has been up and running 24 hours a day for 58 days. The only time it's ever gone down was during a power outage. So excluding that I suppose it would have been up since June, when he threw in the firewalls. This Mac I'm on fares much better than the Windows machines but it cannot come close to running that long. It's real problem is Netscape. Netscape locks it up once in a while. But when it was only used for running data off a cable feed without Netscape it held up for weeks at a time.
