Take your pick. Based on the number of Athlon SKUs out there I wouldn't at all be surprised if it is "b". The alternative is that Compaq and IBM are selling a boatload of Athlons on a direct basis.

If there is no updated guidance from AMD in the next week or two, "b" becomes a higher probability event."

Also could be that AMD is helping to get rid of the older motherboards since the Via ones are coming out real soon.

Once the Via MBs come out, resellers will have a tougher time selling the old versions.

Did you see the processor availability at the bottom of the page? I wonder how often they update that.
