Jim responded to this: "Bob Brinker's been down on Intel for months and turns out was pretty much right to be so."

(Jim said) "he's been down on Intel for two years at least. I think you should take a look at his pick UTEK vs Intel in that timeframe.
Intel has done fine and Bob talks about Intel from Feb to present instead of YTD. Intel is still up over 20% in '99"

Like I've said before here Bob Brinker is known, and advertises himself as a market timer (name of his newsletter). He typically eschews individual stock comments, although he did choose to bash Intel on Saturday with no provocation. He got lucky with the semi equips, recommending them last fall. I bought AMAT before he recommended it. I'd been looking at it, and, actually seeing Michael Murphy talk about it at a seminar helped pull the trigger on it. Murphy does understand technology pretty well. With Brinker, it's "a little bit of knowledge is dangerous", if you know what I mean. Another of Brinker's dogs, besides UTEK, has been Komag. Brinker should not talk techstocks at all. Murphy you can listen to, see what he says, then make up your own mind.
