Rudedog,
Hi!!
RE: As far as "$50B in revenues" - the last guy who advanced that as a "strategic goal" was Eckhard Pfeiffer at CPQ, and you see how well it worked for them.

You've mentioned many things on this thread that make a great deal of sense...But, comparing Michael Dell's integrity to EP is not one of them..

Best, Kemble

RE:Rudedog-I enjoy your posts but you "sound like an engineer"-I do not know-anyway--- I am personally of the opinion and it is just my own opinion that it's the artist in this world that make the big bucks--- the visionairies who have guts and believe in themselves and their own insights like (Mr Clark(Netscape and Healtheon)-MSD-Henry Ford etc.)If you know all that is known-"you know nothing"-It is seeing what others fail to see that allows you to get filthy rich.wbm-

Rudy,

You observed that:

I would be more impressed with something that won a few hearts and minds. I'm not too impressed with just "more of the same" given the stock performance we have seen this year on what was really fine traditional execution by DELL. They obviously need to do something more than just turn up the volume on their current strengths.

I agree.

Perhaps it's time for Dell to become a true technology company. Use some of that cash horde to invest in R&D and develop new products. MSD noted that Dell's initial strength was its ability to utilize technology created by others. Perhaps it's time to abandon the old ways and to create technology that will be the growth engine for the future.

TTFN,
CTC
