12:48 est. Dec 13, 1999 - (Dayinvestor.com - Research Alert): AGTX - 8 1/4 x 8 3/8 - BAMM Bid Up on AOL-Wal-Mart Speculation: AGTX Also Involved in Wal-Mart Online

Reports in several publications continue to point to a possible partnership between AOL and discount retail giant Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart, which expects to relaunch its new online site in January, has already announced online partnerships will a small cadre of public companies including Books A Milllion (BAMM) and Quantum Leap, a division of LEAP.

A little digging turns up one other small cap, Applied Graphics Technologies (AGTX) that has partnered with Wal-Mart to develop ecommerce applications- but has not yet issued a release. Buried in AGTX's November earnings release was this interesting tidbit-

"`The newly organized E-business, consisting of our Digital Division, the Agile Enterprises work-flow applications business and the Broadcast Distribution business have landed important new business with Wal-Mart, the largest retailer in the United States. This new business should generate one-time revenue from developing e-commerce applications systems, we are hopeful that the real payoff will be the recurring revenue streams that this and future e-commerce related opportunities have the potential to generate."

A call to AGTX confirmed their deal with Wall-Mart, but the company declined to comment on any possible involvement in any future Wall-Mart/AOL deal.
