Zoom Telephonics Demonstrates Cable Modems With
USB and 'No-New-Wires' Networking At CCTA
Western Show

Zoom Broadband Solution Includes Phoneline and Wireless LAN Options

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 1999--Zoom Telephonics, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZOOM - news) is demonstrating for
the first time cable modems that incorporate networking with ''no-new-wires'' technology and easy installation using a Universal
Serial Bus (USB) port. The products will be displayed at the CCTA (California Cable Television Association) Western Show,
December 15-17, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The cable modems will be exhibited in the Zoom booth (#4618) and
at the show's CableNET '99 educational showcase. CableNET is an annual exhibition of the latest in broadband cable
technology.

The Zoom cable modems being demonstrated install on the high-speed USB or 10BaseT port of a desktop or laptop
computer. One of the models in the demonstration distributes broadband Internet data using home phoneline wiring or a
wireless LAN (Local Area Network) link to other wireless-equipped devices. The Zoom exhibit will demonstrate how this
technology simplifies installation and increases user satisfaction by providing convenient data distribution throughout a home or
business.

Terry, it is not really a "wireless" internet connection, it is wireless within the home, but gets its internet connection on Telco lines, if I got this one right.
