Alan,

Here is the link of the Dell's offer with RDRAM inside :
dell.com

The first configuration starts at 1900 $ and last costs 3000 $.
Get a look, Dell didn't try to save any money elsewhere to compensate the "additional" RDRAM's cost. All components are goods.

Anyone looking for a "serious" PC would choose the most expensive.
My definition of "serious" being "Able to handle the next 3 years application and games without any upgrade (but with difficulties in the last year)".

The gamers will want to get the same quality on their PCs than the guy owning a Playstation 2 (once they've seen it in action) and that's certainly not with a PC100 or even a PC133 config that they'll get it.

Windows 2000 will probably be a good argument to convince the non gamers, but anyway some apps in the pipeline will require a much higher bandwith than PC133 can provide, for example 3D apps to appears in next years and video which would really look like video...

Nice move today, hope for some additional positive movement this week when Dell starts to deliver.
