Just stirring things. Nice rumour on Yahoo Club that Phillips might want to acquire COMPAQ. ___________________________________________

Phillips is a highly successful Dutch company which is looking for acquisitions in the US compatible with its current international interests. It was rumoured to be after Nortel at one time. Phillips would have no difficulty arranging finance for a takeover of COMPAQ. COMPAQ's cash, CMGI, AV and other holdings would help an acquirer dilute the net price paid. They could do to COMPAQ what COMPAQ did to DEC.
