View and Edit Portfolio.

Keeping portfolio's in DWA is one of the best things you can do for your investments. You can check daily for important action on your stocks just by a click of a button. It will alert you to any movement that warrants your immediate attention.

If you have the charts plus service you have 5 portfolio's, 1 temp portfolio and the query portfolio.

The 5 portfolio's available are ones you can type in as many stocks, indexes or indicators that you would like to watch. They are also good for sorting and holding a group of stocks to search in the "search and sort" which we will go over later.

The temp portfolio is used for stocks that you may find while browsing stocks. Let's say you come upon a goody and want to watch it for a breakout. You clicke "Add to temp portfolio" at the top left of the chart screen and it will be added to the temp portfolio. We'll go over this again when we get to the charts section.

The query portfolio is available when using the search and sort feature. Let's say you search a sector and a certain criteria that you want to save for further review. Down at the bottom of the search page you have an option to add the results of the search to a portfolio.

To add symbols to your portfolio's, go to the bottom of the table to the "edit ports" button. This will bring up a screen with all of your portfolio's and the edit buttons for each. In the edit screen you can change the name of the particular portfolio and add the tickers. Each ticker must be separated by a comma. Once done, click "save changes" and Viola! A portfolio.

Back in the main page of the portfolio's you will see a list of your portfolio's, all of them. Next to the name are two buttons, one for "view port" and the other "activity".

We'll go over these in the next post.
