<America Online, Inc., Motorola, Inc. and Nokia have agreed to purchase fromus, in private placements that will occur concurrently with the closing of this offering, an aggregate number of shares of our common stock equal to up to 4.5% of our capital stock, which percentage is based on outstanding common stock as well as options to purchase shares which have been granted as of, 2000, but not exceeding an aggregate investment of more than $225 million.> From the above, if 4.5% is @225 million, then they are valuing the whole company at 5 billion - which is exactely what I, and others, had been using on this thread for Palm value at IPO. 5 billion translates to around $12 to each coms share. But as we all know these stock won't stay at ipo price so the benefits to coms is just un-quantifiable. Also they may chose to up the ipo price as we get closer to the ipo date or even day before the ipo. Mang

Anyone care for a good laugh? Here's a link to the JP Morgan downgrade on September 14, 1999 right after the palm spinoff was announced and the stock was at about $28 as I recall! Maybe they'll upgrade it when it hits $50 in less than a week! biz.yahoo.com ARNOLD
