PC, i never saw cash balances below 2%...4,5% was the lowest i know of. everything else you say reminds me of Japan in it's heyday..."it's different this time".

we'll see....

as for Yardeni, he knows probably as much or as little as we do about Y2K, in spite of his intensive studies on the subject. everywhere you look, the only answer you really get is 'we don't know'.

anyway, since it's now hyped as a non-issue, it could well become an issue. in any case, the bubble will go however far it goes, and then pop. that's the point when buying the dip will cost you your shirt. of course you and 'millions of informed investors' will recognize that point with their RAZOR SHARP investment acumen...<gggg>

I agree, PC, that Yardeni is out of his mind! He thinks there's a 30% chance that the market will move up! <g>

PC,

I installed updated versions of 2 programs that had Y2K problems yesterday. In my department we started working on it 2 years ago and are still finding bugs. It makes you wonder about the corporations that started later and have fewer resources. I think no one knows what's going to happen, but certainly there will be some problems - hopefully minor.
