Although I do not follow WFR specifically, this news certainly cannot hurt IMO, though the real payday for WFR will most certainly come with the advent of 300mm. PC demand is much greater than anyone predicted for '99 and this is a trend which should continue for the near-term, since companies which may have wanted to stockpile for any Y2K incident were largely unable to because of component dislocations from the Taiwan earthquake. Any shortage will most likely impact WFR more than others in the industry since it is a largely commodity play and is subject to the extreme volatility as such, a la MU in DRAM. So a bet on WFR here may not be a bad idea if indeed the above trend comes to fruition.
