"It is the accepted norm here and so you adopted it."

Not true! I was born and raised a catholic. I had already given up Catholicism before I became a christian. During my early days, I went to a mosque asking if they had material comparing their views with that of christianity. To my surprise, the material given was a comparison between "christian religion" and Islam. I was young in the Lord at the time and assumed they would give me something that compared "true" christianity with their own. I was mistaken and so are you when you lump all "christianity" in one bag. Religion is one thing. Salvation is another.

Salvation in Christ, being Born Again or Born from Above is what some on this thread have experienced. If that is the case and one sticks to the teaching of his Master, he will NOT go to another religion, nor will he get caught up in the latest phenomenon occuring in christian circles, but rather will have his focus on his Shepherd. There is no need for someone like myself to delve further for answers for my answer is a person: Jesus Christ.

Islam like many religions bases its hope on God's mercy, never knowing if one is fully accepted in His sight. Individuals who are "saved" are ASSURED of God's love and forgiveness. It may seem as arrogance to some but the truth is it is confidence. I know my Redeemer lives. I also KNOW I am accepted. You can't do much better than that. This doesn't make me any less a sinner than anyone else, just a forgiven one.

As far as Islam and the "virgin birth" I'm still trying to remember what it is that is in agreement with Christianity. Is it that He had no earthly father?
