Hi TD,

Just saw the piece you posted, on Yahoo thread. Hope I'm just tired and cranky, but I can't see that this is the news we were wanting! The side effect profile has got to be a considerable concern when even considering this drug for ABC, prevention of ABC, psoriasis, etc.. Yes, Nolvadex has side effects, but....

Good luck,
Greg

TD, the analyst is just playing smart, or I am not.
Side effects bananas:

Cholesterol: take Lipitor,Pravachol,Zocor, Cholestech, herbs, soy beans, new age pyramids, veggie burgers, accupuncture or a trip to Bermuda (Bahamas is cheaper)and and it will come down.

Hypothyroidism (central type, not affecting the thyroid gland itself) take synthroid, like millions of normal people do (normal, except for the synthroid need).

Headaches? Motrin, Tylenol, Tylenol #3, and next year Morphelan.

Every stock with any good news goes up, even Ligand!!!

Viagra side effect kill the user, Rezulin kill the liver,
Evista clots the blood, Radiation burns the hair, the bowels, the bones and leukemia/lymphoma/cancers are side effects (ok most of it in the past, but still a burden),
TPA cures infarcts but made the brain bleed.

Side effects of the worst types are everyday phenomena, just go to the dentist get some laughing gas and die without smile.

Delayed for breast Cancer? maybe the analyst was expecting something Ligand did not apply for, ABC trials will be the leader of the use in breast cancer, once the drug is out the first ones to use it are the panelists reviewers they know the drug better than anybody.

Flaws in the design? they recommended approval, it does not look like a flaw to me. Photos? pure trivia.

Early stage? Ligand never prnews it, The Targretin GEL will have its own NDA for early stage coming soon. Look at ENMD years away for even pI completed going up like internut.

Profits? 2000? 2001?, There will not be a $30 million expense to pay for the Seragen shares next year. This is a drug that treats/cures cancer, proven and on the way to final approval, I expect tomorrow to go up above $15, the Legg down will be a buying point.

Phase IV are done in this planet, no need to go to Jupiter, pIV will be done, period.

I expect a MAJOR pop tomorrow. Dow Jones and Reuters have been very positive. Quote.com shows all of the trades at 11 11/16 as cancelled followed by trades at 14 1/2 and 17
quote.lycos.com
Island has BUYERS lined up at $16.
Significant Targretin sales are expected to come from BREAST CANCER, not early stage CTCL. Today was a MAJOR plus for LGND and this will be reflected at the open, and in the next few days.
Next year will be a VERY good year for LGND and its investors.
