Second tier? Are you talking about GNET? The street isn't THAT stupid, they can read. mediametrix.com
GNET is in the top 10 of all internet properties, a.k.a. The Top Tier, the cream of the crop, your big boys, etc. No way is GNET a Tier II stock, I would know.
Years ago on our old board (1997 I think), I was the first one I know of (and I read a lot) who in print put internets into a two type or tier system. Talk of the two tiers started showing up all over in the press after that. Ask Joan or Moon or any one from the old board.
The CORRECT use of the term is this. Type 1 or Tier 1 internets are internets with profits, Type II or Tier II don't have profits. Any other use of the term is incorrect. I came up with the two type/tier system long ago and to this day it is the simplest and best way to look at internet stocks. At the time, nobody could figure out anything about internets other than how to lose money in them. It seemed like a good place to start, a simple question, does this company make money or lose it? It is a great starting point with any internet, an important question.
So GNET has been a "Top Tier" and a Type 1 or Tier 1 (making money) stock for a long time, one of the few internets that has.
Enjoy the GNET Techride.

levy, Blue's Correctamundo... and awhile after he coined the phrase Level/Tier I, II, etc. and the concept it started showing up elsewhere. BRAVO BLUE, it's so simple, and highly effective. IT'S THE VERY TECHRIDE ESSENCE!!!
Another BLUE's RULE -
"NEVER SELL SHORT A TYPE I INTERNET STOCK ON THE MOVE"
(as in, like, when ISN'T it On The Move? )
Never DID see that one anywhere else.... wunnerwhy? LOL
My rules (nothing original like Blue's Type I's) are -
STOCKS ARE NOT LOTTERY TICKETS.
INVESTING ISN'T A GAME.
BEWARE IF IT MERGES WITH EGO.
OBJECTIVITY IS THE ONLY WAY.
IT'S ABOUT PAYING ATTENTION TO GROWING HARD-EARNED MONEY.
DD = COMPARE & CONSIDER THE SOURCE(S).
REMEMBER WHY U BOUGHT IT BEFORE DECIDING TO SELL IT.
IF IT AIN'T FUN IT AIN'T WORTH IT.
Notice the EPS stats on some quotes and sites are WAY OFF oftentimes. To find the REAL TYPE I Internets/Technets it's mandatory to go to the statements and count the earnings. Many stats have discrepancies (as i'm sure you've noticed). Especially the EPS and Announcement Dates TRUTH be somewhat difficult to nail down, especially later. And soon, to add further to this merry mix-up, Closing and Opening prices are about to show up different in various places too - because the NEWSWIRE (!) is about to be permitted to offer a choice of more than one of THEIR calculations for pps coming from the different multitudinous sources now other than the traditional indices/dowjones. Talk about a moving target!!
levy, a multi-column plastic counter and an abacus is a good desktop tool - its easier than scribbling things down.
Would enjoy hearing other discipline/strategy/rules....

Joan
