I'd say a split announcement alone would entice a few shorts to cover.

Hint-Hint!

Hi yzfool,

I'm not sure the number of shares that are short on Nortel to put
it into the top 20 list, but keep in mind that hedge funds will
quite often short Nortel against their BCE holdings. Teleclone
is a company set up specifically to do that...they alone are short
5.2 million Nortel shares. (The "compelling reason" to do this is
to provide investors with a way to profit from increases in value
in BCE's non-Nortel holdings.)

Cheers,
Rob
