Lee--This is an interesting development.
It is good to see they are getting on top of this stuff. Now a day trader must have more money in his account. I can only hope that this is rigorously enforced. It simply does not do for day traders to be poor.
What was most interesting was the little things that day traders can still do. Like load up premarket on a high flying stinker then run to Yahoo stock boards and shriek "Buy!, Buy!, Buy!," "To the Moon!", "Last chance to buy at these levels!", "I am looking for a triple before I sell!" and other subtle reminders of the opportunity slipping through inexperienced investors fingers right before their very eyes. Then to help them out they sell to those investors who have been paying attention to them on the stock boards as the stock moves on their hype.
They still let insiders dump huge amounts of stock on investors in sham companies, floorless convertibles tear stockholders new ones, and company officers make billions in stock options. But, By God! The day traders are going to have to be richer to trade!
