I wish I could help more. Being that I am from the east coast, I am not too familiar with the San Fran area. There are two ministries however that may be able to answer at least some questions in a logical rather than emotional manner. One is the Christian Research Institute (which has a one hour radio program from 3 to 4 pm I believe) which has a vast library of material concerning Apologetics. Another is the Spiritual Counterfeits Project which is similar but is unique in the fact that it is run by very intelligent people who have come out of New Age and various occult teachings to embrace the cross. They're located in Berkeley. Neither one of these are churches but they could direct you to one if interested. I think they could also answer many questions that this forum can't. Hope this helps a little.
