Cadence Announces First PSpice Release 9.1 Simulator Update With Expanded Front-end Options and Web Update
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 1999--Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CDN - news), the world's leading supplier of printed circuit board (PCB) design solutions, today announced the immediate availability of the new Cadence© PSpice© 9.1 analog and mixed-signal simulator Web Update, integrated with the popular Cadence PSpice Schematics editor. The update is compatible with the PSpice release 9.1 simulator and provides key improvements to its Monte Carlo analysis capabilities and user interface.
The PSpice Schematics editor, originally the only schematic editor for the PSpice analog and mixed-signal simulator, provides a familiar alternative for users of the PSpice release 8 simulator. The PSpice Schematics editor has all the capabilities of the release 8 Schematics editor and library files, and is integrated with the first PSpice release 9.1 simulator Web Update. This new update of the PSpice Schematics editor from Cadence is an acknowledgement of Cadence's commitment to its valuable and loyal PSpice simulator users.
Cadence is committed to offering schematic capture products that fit with its customer needs and preferences. Cadence has recognized that the PSpice Schematics editor is clearly the preferred schematic editor for the users of PSpice release 8 simulator and earlier Windows versions.
Other PCB Systems Division schematic capture tools include the Cadence Concept© schematic capture designed for UNIX-based and Windows NT-based systems designers and the OrCAD© Capture© and Capture CIS(TM) schematic capture for Windows-based systems designers.
``Cadence is committed to supporting its huge PSpice simulator user community of analog and mixed-signal designers,' said Kishore Karnane, senior technical marketing manager for the PCB Systems Division. ``We have reinstated, by popular demand, the PSpice Schematics editor that many PSpice simulator users know and love for its ease-of-use. We plan other announcements for PSpice simulator users in 2000.'
PSpice 9.1 Productivity Enhancements New Alternate Display button reduces the clutter in the
PSpice simulator window, sizes it appropriately, and keeps
it on top of the schematic editor while you cross-probe. The
Alternate Display command actually switches between two user
configurable arrangements of the PSpice simulator window so
you can create two configurations of the window and switch
between them with the click of a button. The Always on Top command keeps the PSpice simulator window
visible at all times and can be set for either alternate
display configuration of the PSpice simulator window.
The Monte Carlo analysis has been improved to include: Up to 10,000 Monte Carlo runs in a single analysis
which provides more reliable statistical distributions. Enhanced probe windows enable the user to plot with
confidence the data for up to 10,000 runs, either as
families of traces, or as performance analysis
histograms. Probe plot legends, cursors, etc., have
been enhanced to handle multiple sections without loss
of functionality. Copy the raw performance analysis statistical data to
the Windows clipboard, for transfer to other Windows
applications for further analysis, or to save as text.
