Pete: Yeah, I loved it when the Greenman stated before the stock market crash in October, 1987 that he "was always worried about the stock market" and did not think there was speculation in the market. Also I like the "drycleaning indicator." And I thought it was quite telling that he ignored the objections of the Bush administration and did his thing. We should remember this when people start to say that Greenspan will not tighten in an election year. He will do what he has to do. Finally, I liked the plaque on his desk which said: "The buck starts here."
