Metacrawler is insignificant to GNET from a revenue standpoint. It is just the front door, so to speak. Every portal has one.

Exactly my point. Unlike the other portals, GNET uses their own technology to drive metacrawler.....if MSN, Yahoo, Xcite, etc are willing to pay big $$$ to license Inktomi technology, then why doesn't go2net try to generate revenue by licensing their award winning search engine technology to other portals ?

DISCLAIMER : I may be totally off base here since I don't know too much about Inktomi.
