RESEARCH ALERT - Lehman raises semiconductors
NEW YORK, Dec 14 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers on Tuesday said it raised the one-year price targets of several semiconductor companies.

-- raised raised KLA-Tencor Corp. (NASDAQ: KLAC) price target to $120 a share from $87.

-- raised Applied Materials Inc. (NASDAQ: AMAT) share price target to $140 a share from $125.

-- raised Novellus Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: NVLS) shares price target to $103 from $85.

-- raised Teradyne Inc. (NYSE: TER) share price target to $57 from $50.
-- Shares of KLA-Tencor were down 3-5/16 at 85-1/4.
-- Shares of Applied Materials were 3-5/16 at 104-3/4.
-- Shares of Novellus were down 5-5/16 at 76-7/8.
-- Shares of Teradyne were down 4-1/16 at 42-3/8.

-- said the SEMI index of U.S. semiconductor equipment stocks has has performed well in 1999, posting a 107 percent return year to date.
