Wally,

Care to share the results of the last match with your father?

Sure. I had posted the results earlier at bobbrinker.com. I believe he gave them out on the radio this past weekend but I cant be certain. Anyway, the 3 day tourney was cut short to just one 18 hole round. We score the competition using match-play rules. For the eighteen holes, we tied 7-7-4 in match play. According to the trusted rulebook, in the case of a tie on match play, we go to stroke count to find a winner. I earned the win on stroke count with a 100 - 104 advantage. I started the round with a 4-0 lead but Sr. put me to shame on the back nine and won the 18th hole to tie the match play. Unfortunately, there was little he could do on the 18th hole to get back to even on stroke count as I had something like 6 or 7 strokes advantage going into it.

Neither of us played that great but the weather was perfect (as usual in AZ in November) and the crowds were well behaved. (unlike the Phoenix Open where they are known to be a bit rowdy) We were fortunate enough to get on the SANYO blimp's scheduled route that day. We joked that they were providing a live feed of the tourney to the Golf channel throughout the day <G>

take care,
bob jr.
