Frodo, N never said they are looking for a white knight.
NN has been rebuffing would be suitors for years, LU in 97,
TLBS in Mar, and who knows how many more.
Meanwhile ALL the little ATMs have been bought at good premiums.
To say that the big Kahuna in ATMs is " looking for a white knight "
is mischaracterizing the picture at best.

NN is looking for the " right price and partner ".

It will come IMHO,

Frodo there is another twist that few have brought up: future interest rates are going up.
That means that Crisco is not going to be able to do the financing that helped them grow
in the last 7 years with interest rates at 5%. Including the KPMG unit( I hope this is correct ) they got .
I read on this thread in the past the rumor that Crisco
was actually paying telcos ( a Baby Bell and telecom India )
to use their Stratacom switches and to replace NN ATMs
( Pac Bell I believe in 1997 ).

Well with tight money, telcos and ISPs are going to be looking at the most cost effective solution
and not just throwing money around. Because of NNs scalability of it's switches, NN will be doing very well,
